The single toughest test for the End of The Great India Lockdown will be the re-running of Mumbai locals.

Reopening Mumbai means restarting this LIFELINE for the DENSEST city on the planet.

This lifeline has to adjust to the demands of the City around it.

Or ...

1/
Or ...more realistically, the City will have to adjust to a rhythm that does NOT overload this lifeline.

Over 7.5 million people use it multiple times every single week.

The bogies are packed to 3-4 times their capacity in NORMAL times.

The artery of a very narrow City.

2/
For reasonable social distancing it’ll probably have to be brought down to 40-50% capacity- a drop of 5-6X.

Who should use it? Age? Jobs?
When should they use it? Operating hours?
Will we stagger shifts?
How should they behave?
What precautions will we take? How we screen?

3/
The answers will determine how this City starts working.

If we can crack this new rhythm for the City and it's trains, several other Lockdown areas will be subsets.

Solutions to how we start living with the virus and working our way around it.
