Something TCW was VERY well is keeping the theme of "Anyone can be important in the Skywalker saga" while also remembering that the show is set within the saga. Anakin is still the chosen one, but Ahsoka proves herself just as Obi-Wan did in being an impactful character
This is something the sequels lost track of with having Rey's origins constantly change in order to subvert the concept of her being related to the Skywalkers while not understanding Finn as he was in TFA was everything someone could want from a non Skywalker character
Its a recurring problem in the sequels with them wanting to have their cake and eat it too with Rey. They want her to be a Skywalker in every definition, from being a white, desert raised, and hitting Luke and Anakin's narrative story beats, yet they don't want to commit it
This leaves Rey in a rather tough position because unlike Finn who's backstory gives him an organic reason for having a conflict with the FO & Kylo, Rey has none of that. It'd be one thing is her sole role was to be a thematic presence but she has to carry the narrative as well
If Rey had been some character with an actual confirmed backstory like Poe, Rose, Ezra, Ahsoka, and wasn't made to have an obvious reveal centered around who she was, this wouldn't have been a problem, but it wasn't.
There are people who want Rey to be from nowhere, yet don't understand that her character just wasn't designed to be that way. Yet, for some reason, these same people don't want to see Finn as exactly the person they are asking Rey to be, even though Finn was setup to be that
Which brings me full circle to Ahsoka. Ahsoka works because she turns out to be exactly what she was meant to be. A Jedi unrelated to the skywalkers by blood, who has to struggle and earn her place as a hero but ends up becoming iconic in her own right without being a knockoff
