A thread for requesting a FL Absentee Ballot for the November 3rd, 2020 Election because FL actively discourages voter participation, COVID-19 amplifies that. It's important that folks who wish to be heard by the electorate are indeed able to participate in the electoral process.
Mythbuster: You don't need any particular reason to request an Absentee Ballot. If you don't feel like showing up to the polling booth THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO. So this thread is especially useful for this election cycle since many people won't be able to vote in person
Absentee Ballots help the most challenged members of our communities engage with the electorate as close to their terms as possible. e.g. HOUSE ARREST, WORKING OVERTIME, DISABILITY, the ELDERLY, DEPRESSED students away from home, the SICK and QUARANTINED
You only need 3 pieces of information for requesting an absentee ballot online:
1) The name of the voter for whom the ballot is being requested
2) The voter’s address
3) The voter’s date of birth
If you need to request a ballot on behalf of a family member for whatever reason, YOU CAN! You need the same 3 pieces of information but for that family member:
1) name of the voter
2) voter’s address
3) voter’s date of birth
Remember to research the MINOR ELECTORAL RACES many of which have GREATER CONSEQUENCES for your DAILY LIFE and EXPERIENCE than the Presidential Election. e.g. Congresswomen, State Senators, Sheriffs, County Commissioners, City Councilwomen
For returning the absentee ballot you got 2 options: mail it back for free or drop it off in person. For both of these options the Elections Office/voting site must receive your ballot by the end of election day November 3rd, 2020: 5PM at voting sites/7PM at main office
You can request an Absentee Ballot up to 10 DAYS PRIOR TO ELECTION DAY. Last day to request a ballot is OCT. 23rd, 2020 before 5PM.

****If you decide to mail back your ballot please mail it back AT LEAST A WEEK in advance. Specific directions may be enclosed with your ballot.
Here's a link for all the current FL election supervisors: https://dos.elections.myflorida.com/supervisors/
In the above link you can click on your county and be redirected to your Election Supervisor's website.
Source for the above info laid out in this thread: https://dos.myflorida.com/elections/for-voters/voting/vote-by-mail/
All of this assumes that you've registered to vote. Thankfully because of quarantine I got plenty time to walk through that too.
You can register to vote online and then request your Absentee ballot in less than 20mins, assuming that you have all the necessary documents.
Registration link: https://registertovoteflorida.gov/home
To register to vote you'll need just your FL drivers license or FL ID card as well as your Social Security Number. If you don't have the above information then you'll have to fill out the application and mail (or drop it off) to your county's Election Supervisor's office
You must register to vote AT LEAST 29 DAYS PRIOR to the election day (October 2nd, 2020 is the last day for voter registration)
Here's a link with detailed instructions and explanations: https://dos.myflorida.com/media/702393/dsde-39-in-english-20191202.pdf
You may have noticed that the dates I've wrote in for registration are a couple days ahead of the disqualification time frame. That's because I expect FL to be on some bureaucratic bullshit (or incompetence) as the deadline nears. So, register well in advance of all FL deadlines.
Final Comment: There are many ways for us to express our civic engagement, voting is just ONE OF THE FEW with a nearly immediate, tangible impact on our respective communities.
