At last I watched the final episode of the 12 Monkeys TV show. Wow, what an amazing ride. This is one of my all-time favorite time-travel shows, up there with Doctor Who, Continuum, T:SCC and Legends of Tomorrow. Such great characters and powerful emotional moments. @TerryMatalas

I'm interested in the fact that the past decade or so has been (arguably) the best era ever for time travel on television. This could be because of the rise of serialization, or Peak TV's greater tolerance for stories that nerd the fuck out. Or creators who grew up on BTTF/DrWho.

As a reminder, what I want from a time travel story is the same thing I want from any other kind of story: compelling characters, emotionally charged stakes, people making defining choices, and the kind of suspense that comes from knowing that ANYTHING could happen next.

Oh... one final thought. I kind of want to categorize #TheGoodPlace as a time-travel show. There are a surprising number of temporal shenanigans, which I'll keep vague for spoiler reasons.
