If you're a newly reverted Muslim, or you're slightly out of practice with the Deen, then here's a little thread to help you during Ramadaan In-Sha-Allah:
NIYYAH FOR STARTING YOUR FAST:
Nawaitu sauma ghadin an-adaai fardi Ramadaan haathi hee sinati, lilla hi ta'ala.

(I intend to fast for the coming day I order to perform my duty towards Allah in the month of Ramadaan on the present year).
NIYYAH FOR BREAKING YOUR FAST:
Alla humma laka sumtu wa'ala rizqi ka aftar tu.

(oh Allah, for thy glory have I fasted, and now I break the fast with food that cometh from thee).
PRO-TIP: the more you eat in the morning, the more your body expects food throughout the day. Try to eat a moderate amount of food for suhoor/sehri, just enough to sustain you for the day. A glass of milk and some dates is also a very beneficial add-on to your morning breakfast.
The Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) , is quoted to have said: “When one of you is fasting, he should break his fast with dates; but if he cannot get any, then (he should break his fast) with water, for water is purifying".
It is also narrated that if you offer a fasting person food with which to break their fast with, you receive reward in great abundance. Be sure to open your hearts and extend unto a fasting person in need (if you are by the means). May Allah make it easy for us In-Sha-Allah.
