Once past pick 100ish, I believe in betting on traits. That’s how they landed Slayton + Connelly (2019).
The #Giants did a great job of that w/:
Matt Peart (length, feet)
Darnay Holmes (smooth mover)
Cam Brown (length)
Carter Coughlin (quickness)
Would bet on a sleeper from here.
I buy into: FA is for needs, #NFLDraft is for value. #Giants continue to subscribe. In hindsight, this draft was about two themes: fixing the OL + finding second and third-level defenders to fit what should be a Patriots-esque defense. In reality, they stuck to their value board.
Here's how I would grade the #Giants draft based on value, positional importance, and fit:
Andrew Thomas: B
Xavier McKinney: A
Matt Peart: B+
Darnay Holmes: B+
Shane Lemieux: B
Cameron Brown: B+
Carter Coughlin: A-

My takeaways from #Giants draft:
1. Versatility! Every non-OL can and will play two or more roles in D system predicated on just that
2. Bypassed flashy picks and that's how I like it
3. Pass coverage a priority (QBs get rid of the ball fast)
4. Revamping/modernizing of LB corps
I see some #Giants fans saying they didn't address needs. Did they go down a needs list and tick them off one by one? No. But the key reasons they lost so many games last year:
1. Pass coverage
2. Pass protection
3. Ball security
They improved in at least two of those areas.
