Watching a talk by @MichaelMJJohn I realized why Norman changes the term from affodence to signifier is because Norman Doors are a signifier/affordence mismatch.

It& #39;s also the first time I found the term signifier useful.

Don Norman probably had it in the book, but I was having a violent reaction to Derrida.
