Understanding Leo Venus

Leo is a zodiac sign ruled by the Sun, which simply is the ego, the person we identify with, the person we are but also trying to be (the best version of ourselves). The Sun describes our desire to be, our capacity to assert ourselves; affirm our subjectivity.

Leo mainly deals with pride, generosity, confidence and creativity. They tend to be talented in spotting/shining light both on their own skills but also those of others, and usually do a great job at promoting that skill and make the most out of it.

Whereas their fellow fire sign Aries is more individualistic and self-reliant, Leos need and seek an audience to witness their work and be praised for it to feel fulfilled. Reciprocally, they provide the same warmth, support and recognition, knowing how much it matters.

Leos are confident, but as mentioned need the praise of an audience for that confidence to be authentic. Nonetheless, they won’t let their guard down, be susceptible to the outside world thus can do a good job of faking it. Basically: ‘Fake it ‘till you make it’ mentality.

So, the way this energy translates when Venus is here can be about, eg: looking confident wearing something ‘risky’ or seeming sure of themselves when flirting with someone: real confidence will only come if they succeed but self doubt will be masked no matter the outcome.

• How can you tell if Leo Venus is interested in you?

As confident and flamboyant fire signs, even the shier ones will be more or less obvious. As they’re generous and creative, they can surprise their crush (or partner) with gifts and romantic gestures that showcase their love

They can be quite gullible and expect everything to go smoothly thanks to their confidence, and some might even go for it without any fear of rejection. Or, they might fear it but bluff and act unaffected even after getting rejected (despite their feelings on the inside)

Overall, as Leos see the world as their stage, everything they do is a performance where the goal is to impress and get applauded. Thus, even the way they show interest can be quite dramatic and extravagant.*

*Depending on other placements, such as Sun in Cancer/Virgo where the individual is naturally more timid, private and discreet, Leo Venus people can be less comfortable with attention thus with grand gestures, too. Nonetheless, the need to impress and get praised stays the same

• How do you satisfy a Leo Venus’ needs?

Be consistent, loyal and generous with your affection. They need to feel appreciated and loved, treating them like you treat everybody else will draw them away and almost make them feel disrespected.

As Leo deals with pride and enjoy social recognition, they tend to go towards the gregarious and flamboyant type they can show off thus someone who is comfortable with receiving attention and have something that makes them special (whatever that means to a Leo Venus).

But, Leo, ruled by the Sun; ego, still needs a partner who won’t overshadow them. So, there might be a small contradiction between wanting a popular and special partner but also not so popular and self-centered that they steal their thunder or neglect Leo Venus’ needs.

It is important that Leo Venus finds someone who won’t make them feel this way to avoid any bitterness or rivaly between them and their partner. Ideally, Leo Venus’ partner won’t fight them for the spotlight but still be comfortable being shown off.
