Interesting but flawed mediawatch piece that touches on MR's interview this week where Bridges was confronted with "leaked poll" numbers. Peacock points out one of the alleged polls was UMR, which Bridges may not have had access to if it existed https://www.rnz.co.nz/audio/player?audio_id=2018744085
So while RNZ's media watcher has time to criticise that part of Bridges' response, he doesn't mention that no news organisation has reported or stacked up the claim in a blog post by the MR host's podcast partner that Nats were on 31%, which was presented in the interview as fact
Peacock points out that "lobbyist" Cormack's unsubtantiated claims were an original source forleadership coup rumours involving Mark Mitchell once the subject has comfortably moved on to Newshub/ZB, but not that his blog was the source of the 31% claim when discussing RNZ
Like, who cares, it was a week ago, but can we one day put to rest the notion that this show is somehow a lofty and principled surveyor of media standards
