Black French men had a hashtag “everything black except our women” that was going viral for years. Posting photos of themselves dressed in black next to their light skinned mixed, white and other non-black women. All to taunt and torment black women.
They also have a sick habit of co-signing and allowing berbers and Arab men to spew misogynoir. I’ll see a tweet in French black twitter from an Arab calling a black woman an Ape and you’ll find black French men co-signing it and laughing along. It’s that bad.
Listen, the misogynoir & colorism coming from black men in English and American twitter is no better. This isn’t the oppressor* Olympics. But black French men have a very nefarious habit of tormenting, gaslighting & silencing black women. Allowing non-black folks to do the same.
They also have a tendency to be apologists for racism, colorism & misogynoir. Their internalized anti-blackness is strong. I say this to say that anti-blackness, colorism, misogynoir, etc are all global issues but more violent & intense depending on the region & racial dynamics.
Internalized anti-blackness, colorism and misogynoir are cross-cultural diseases within the African diaspora.
