Until 13 March, UK policy was that travellers arriving from Wuhan, Italy, Iran should self isolate. Govt cancelled that policy at around the same time as they stopped community testing & tracing. Have asked Govt many times to explain that decision & publish the science behind it https://twitter.com/telegraph/status/1254150566781075456">https://twitter.com/telegraph...
Here’s previous guidance that Govt chose to cancel rather than expand on 13 March. Most other countries have had some kind of quarantine/checks policy for some time. Glad UK looking at this again but still don’t understand why we’ve been so out of line https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-specified-countries-and-areas/covid-19-specified-countries-and-areas-with-implications-for-returning-travellers-or-visitors-arriving-in-the-uk">https://www.gov.uk/governmen...
At @CommonsHealth online meeting over a week ago Health Secretary agreed to publish the science behind the borders decisions. I’ve written again to remind him. Govt must start being much more open about it’s scientific advice - both to get the best decisions & to sustain trust
