Because North Korea and Kim Jong Un are trending right now, here's a thread about the DPRK; an amazing country that you know absolutely nothing about yet are still taught to absolutely loathe it to the point of supporting its overthrow and continued US intervention.
The US war on Korea absolutely devastated the country, killing about 20% of the population. Their capital was demolished into the ground. However after the war, People's Korea went upon a path of reconstruction to rebuild what the US destroyed.
The country's founder Kim Il Sung and the Korean Worker's Party led the charge in mobilizing the masses into rebuilding what was lost, with Chinese, Soviet, and East German assistance. In the 1960's, the DPRK was called the economic miracle of east Asia.

Here's this great and emotional documentary about life in the DPRK, including interviews with many Korean citizens from across the country, called My Brothers and Sisters in the North.
Here's another amazing video which talks about the DPRK defectors that live in Seoul, but wish to return back. they're not brainwashed, they realize that capitalism impoverishes and isolates.
I can add more, such as the lies about starvation, how democracy works in the DPRK, or how its economy functions and how they're able to survive so long, but i'll leave you this reading guide.
