HORRIBLE THINGS MARK WAHLBERG HAS DONE: a thread

(trigger warning: very graphic language/violence/racism)

mark wahlberg and 3 other teenagers stalked and harassed 3 black siblings, this led to them chasing them while yelling racial slurs and throwing rocks at them. 1/2

the day after this attack, they followed one of the siblings, jesse coleman (12) while he was on a field trip. they proceeded to attack coleman and his class (2/2)

in 1988 mark wahlberg physically attacked a middle-aged vietnamese man with a large wooden stick while yelling racial slurs (1/2)

soon after, he attacked another vietnamese man while he was “looking for a place to hide”. when police finally came to the scene he made “a number of unsolicited racial statements”. he only served 45 days in jail for these crimes (2/2)

after serving some time in jail he and a friend beat up his neighbor in an unprovoked attack, causing multiple injuries

in 2014 mark wahlberg applied for a pardon for these convictions. one of the victims spoke out and opposed his application for a pardon (wahlberg most likely backed out to avoid further backlash)

this is more ridiculous/delusional than problematic but HE CLAIMED HE WOULD’VE STOPPED 9/11

this calvin klein ad he did where he said with his whole chest: “the best protection against aids is to keep your calvins on”

he refused to be a lead in brokeback mountain due to its “graphic nature” despite starring in the much more graphic movie boogie nights. hmmmm

he was reported to have shouted homophobic slurs while performing (as marky mark) at a gay club
