Saw Spotted Sandpiper bobbing its tail around the lake.
It’s the most widespread sandpiper in N. America. Males are smaller, less aggressive and take care of the young, while the females live their best life!

Shoutout to this male Red-bellied Woodpecker! They have tongues that stick out 2 inches from their bill. Their tongues are also barbed, which allows them to easily pull insects out of crevices.
Great Crested Flycatchers often weave snakeskin into their nest. Which unfortunately means that other snakeskin’esque items have been found in their nests, including plastic wrappers

Gray Catbirds are talented mimics, whose songs can last up to 10 minutes and can occasionally include non-avian sounds, like frog calls!
This one flew away before I could get him to sing for us. My bad.
Field Sparrow males are ridiculously aggressive towards females. Usually when a male sees a female for the first time in his territory, he’ll fly into her and knock her to the ground.
