not to be dramatic, but i'm at this point in my life i'm ready to literally beg people to stop reading brandon sanderson, because every single time i hear someone praise him, i die a little bit inside.
like especially if you're a queer reader, please, please, go support someone who doesn't think you should stop yourself from being queer
for those wondering why I’ve been done with him since I read this in June 2017:
one thing: him being Mormon isn’t a problem. there’s no need to judge anyone’s religion. many religions say being queer is a sin, and yet it doesn’t make people of these faiths homophobic, so this thread has literally nothing to do with him being Mormon. moving on.
when I say I want people to stop reading it, obviously you don’t have to, I read he’s grown as a human being, so that’s good, but please when talking about him and how great he is, please acknowledge what happened instead of writing this off.
i'm not here to create a debate to know if he's a good guy or not, if you should forgive him or not or call him trash or whatever, that's honestly not my point here. i just want to hear more people acknowledge what happened. that's it.
i'm not asking you to write me a 10k word essay telling me why you read his books, this is literally not my point.
if you find joy his books, go ahead, have fun, but don't treat him as some kind of god who can do no wrong. with that being said, i'm leaving this thread because it's taking all my energy from me and i have finals to study for. bye.
