Darby was dismissed by director of football Sajid Ali Mahmood within two days of appointing his new assistant Mark Jones last week.

Mahmood was announced by Redditch as DOF on February 10 but he was introduced to Darby in December as someone to help with recruitment.

On January 19, two days before a trip to Bromsgrove, Mahmood asked Darby to do his tactics and team talk for the game, a request made by text message. Darby said no.

Darby says Reds chairman Chris Swan told him "not to worry" and that Mahmood had been given "the wrong title".
