Anytime an author quotes "Futuh Al Habash in Arabic" they are quoting the fake Arabic copy made by Rene Basset. Who based it on the Amharic copy.
In the 1970s, an Egyptian author by the name of Fahim Muhammad Shaltout, tried to publish his own version, claiming it was from a long lost manuscript he found in an Egyptian library, but was disproved as mostly copying from the french author Rene Basset.
The manuscript of Bahjat al-Zaman or Fatouh al-Habasha was book was printed in 1974 and was claimed to be have made in the 1800s, which in term claims to be from the middle ages. Make that make sense. The manuscript was forged to sell the paperback copy in 1974
Ahmed Gurey was Habar Makador of the Samaroon, the only copy of the Futuh not based on an Amharic/French or forged Egyptian copy was the text used to write the History of Gujrat, which states, Ahmed Gurey and his Dir soldiers captured Habasha and sold them to Muslim Indian states
