Basic Medical Sciences.

The difference between the two is the same difference between a Microbiologist and a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

MLS is regulated by a body. Medicine is regulated by a Body. Nursing is regulated by a body.
Pharmacy is also regulated by a body.

Medical Microbiology is a specialty in 500L after meeting requirements.

A profession is more than studying a course

Just because you know how to run some tests or carry out some processes does not mean you can do so on a human being. MLS are trained with human samples
