gaijin: so this thing in Japan happened and it was xenophobic/sexist/harmful and here is why we should address it

these are the kind of people who ONLY follow Youtubers who show REALLY COOL FUN THINGS TO DO IN JAPAN and get morally offended at anyone who dares to discuss the negatives. they cannot handle that Japan isn’t their perfect fantasyland

don’t get me wrong; I don’t hate accounts that talk about culture, activities, or places to travel in Japan. there is merit to this

but getting OFFENDED and MOCKING people who go through Actual Problems living here just because it doesn’t fit their ideal is gross

and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I 100% welcome foreigners in my home country complaining about ANY bullshit or mistreatment they endure. I’m not going to mock them or silence them. I’m going to LISTEN and if possible? Help them. Period.
