after everything's over, Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang have to live on knowing they both failed Mingjue in some way and were a part of his de*th, yes they were both manipulated but had either of them looked at da-ge closely, they would've seen something wrong earlier
Xichen tried so hard to get Mingjue and Jiggy to get along but if he had dropped it, if he hadn't told Mingjue to become sworn brothers with them, had he listened to his childhood friends concerns, Jiggy would never have been able to get so close to Mingjue
bc of the song, da-ge got angrier but Huaisang going to Jiggy made it worse, he knew that his brother didn't like him but he kept going, Huaisang knew his da-ge was always protecting him but this one time, he couldn't see that, he just saw his brother losing his anger +
over something he didn't think was worth it, Mingjue may have had a temper but he wasn't irrational, both Xichen and Huaisang, two people who should've known him the best, cast his concerns aside and in doing so, helped to ki// him, they didn't listen and Mingjue paid the price
Jiggy really had them wrapped around his finger that they dismissed his concerns so easily, they should've known that Mingjue isn't someone to believe gossip, he relied on his gut instincts and evidence and neither of them two saw that
Xichen literally got him to ignore that and become sworn brothers, he didn't like Jiggy but he trusted Xichen so he went along with it, but where was that trust back? when he told Xichen his thoughts about Jiggy, where was the trust from Xichen to believe that maybe there's +
something actually there?
they really didn't trust him enough to believe his reasoning for his attitude and suspicion against Jiggy :/
