Three days ago my colleagues and I decided to investigate the deaths in Kano. By day 2, we had received reports of over 100 deceased people. A large number highly suspicious for COVID 19.

Our aim was to collect objective data and present it to the authorities, encourage private sector to help, call on international organizations to aid and increase awareness amongst Kano people about the imminent threat.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of calls&messages about http://deaths.At  this stage it is very clear that a catastrophe is brewing in Kano.We have decided to halt our data collection & direct our efforts in to creating an emergent response. We will finalize our report

Kano may well be the epicenter of COVID19 deaths in the world. The combination of poverty, illiteracy, densely populated state, non existent health care and poor leadership is exactly the recipe for disaster amidst this pandemic.
