France lost 368 Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 22,614. There were 198 new hospital deaths and 171 in care homes and elsewhere. This continues the sharper downward trend of the last week.
The pressure on intensive care continues to fall. For the 16th day in a row, there are fewer C19 patients in ic tonight - 4,725, 146 fewer than yesterday. Total hospital population of C19 patients is now down to 28,222 - continuing the fall started over a week ago.
Reminder: the death figures are likely to be close to the real figures. French deaths from all causes since 1 March, published weekly 10 days in arrears, suggest that official Covid-19 figures and this year's "excess mortality" (increased deaths above average) are a close match.
I mistyped 368. Should be 369 deaths today...as sharp-eyed mathematicians have pointed out.
