Being a fansite for a major group or even a rookie group sounds fun but honestly I’m exhausted every day. I am on their schedule. The waiting, the pressure to not miss anything, the fansite rivalry, the politics, it’s a highly toxic environment. It isn’t for the faint of heart.
It’s also extremely time consuming and expensive. You must dedicate 3/4 of your day to one person. It’s something you shouldn’t even consider if you plan on having a life of your own. But, he makes it worth my while most days. He’s kind to me and thanks me a lot.
It is my job to make him look good. To film the best videos. To get the best angles. To support him in every way. I was more or less scouted by him. He likes the way I film. So, I agreed to limit my interactions with other members. It is considered a betrayal to film others.
Korean fansite culture is the most vile and toxic world I’ve ever been exposed to. It only gets worse the bigger the group gets. So, I have my guard up CONSTANTLY. I have had horrible things done to me by rival fansites. I don’t advise getting into this unless you’re VERY tough.
There’s good and kind hearted fansites out there and then there’s HEADLINER. She took it too far. I understand the frustration but it was UNFORGIVABLE what she’s said and done.
Headliner and I are nowhere NEAR same level. I am fansite for a rookie group like ACE before they were signed. I’m not comparing. But the world is similar. Terrible even. But I do it as a hobby. Or at least that’s what I tell myself. It’s a thankless job some days but it’s ok.
I’ll end up deleting this thread it’s not meant to stay up I’m just venting. 🥰
