i am gonna rant about khr. im not that good with words but i just feel so strongly for the anime/manga that talking about it after such a long period of time just feels liberating

i almost dropped the anime when i first watched it. tsuna's VA felt a bit weak to me and the art had been wonky at times - tsuna's hair went into ridiculous directions and hayatos face just didnt... look right. it irked me at the time, kinda put me off enough for me to doubt-
-if the anime was as good as people said it was. but then i saw a post somewhere saying that ep 24 is where it really starts. not that the first episodes weren't important, they totally were. case in point, the ten year bazooka, a major plot device, was introduced +
we're introduced to the characters. who lambo is, what bianchi wants, even fon was slipped in there on the ep where i-pin was introduced. 24 is where shit gets real, sure, but we needed the context and the first 20 episodes provided that; these characters all play a part
into the future. weeks, months, years after finishing the anime for the first time, i tell people the same thing: stick around until ep 24 then see where it goes.
i love hayato. he was lonely, or i guess desperate to belong somewhere (although just as w the rest of the thread, im sure there r better words to put it) that he willingly went w the idea of killing tsuna so he can become the tenth, smn important and respected
he admits it himself, after tsuna saves him, and he was just so fucking glad to be something? or someone ig. he took the role of the right hand man with smth close to obsession and i can only think its bec he's never had the chance to prove himself before.
i love takeshi. in the anime, it wasnt shown, but takeshi had planned on jumping off a roof bec he believed baseball was all that he's good for and that losing his ability to play after practicing too hard and breaking his arm made his life pointless. he couldnt see how much
potential he actually had & it's tsuna who tells him. the fact that takeshi is friends with almost everyone yet chooses to hang out w tsuna & hayato make me think that he likes their company bec they dont expect anything from him. not baseball star yamamoto, hes just takeshi
lambo, oh boy. it's a little heartbreaking once you realize Bovino doesn't like him. i always wondered why he made it his goal to kill reborn. was it a personal vendetta? or was it a way to prove himself to Bovino? a 5-year-old being sent to kill the world's strongest doesn't
seem right at all. where did he learn his phrase "gaman" (hold it in)? it's easy to overlook everything about lambo that isn't about him being a spoiled, cowardly brat. i dont think he ever experienced what a family is like before meeting tsuna.
ah, kyoya. he is nobody's bitch. discipline first, think later. i love how essentially, he doesn't change throughout the series. he's still as bloodthirsty and terrifying and hellbent on disciplining except he learns to respect others and acknowledge their strength
i really like the progression of kyoya and tsuna's relationship as guardians. the fact that he was the only one aside from irie to be told about the time travelling plan spoke levels of tsuna's trust in him, no matter how much he must fear him and his violent tendencies
ryohei is such a bright, reassuring presence in the family that the sun is absolutely perfect for him. "big brother" is definitely right, he's enthusiastic about his passions and straightforward and reliable and so very upfront about what he thinks is right and wrong
he loves his sister so much that he punches tsuna for making her cry after revealing the entire future situation to her, but he's also mature enough to understand and respect his feelings. i also think that one shot of TYL!kurokawa w a certain man in a pic is perfect
where the fuck do i even begin with the purple pineapple. this boy has gone through so much shit. human experimentation, going through literal hell, it's no surprise he harbors that much hatred for the mafia. but boy do i live for the moments of compassion he has for
ken, chikusa and chrome. he cares so much about them that it isn't beyond him to ask help from tsuna (by proxy, mafia) to keep them safe. i love that he sees how tsuna is different from the rest of the mafia that he has grown to hate.
there is so much more i want to write but i do not have nearly enough skill (or energy, im swaying a little) to continue but fuck, i just really really really love KHR so fucking much i cant help it
