A couple years ago my brilliant and charming partner @RRombom offhandedly mentioned that someone was making a movie about a piece she reported for her Long Island high school newspaper.
She was pretty chill about it and it was a HS newspaper so I thought oh cool whatever, right? and went back to doing whatever I was doing (probably something related to yogurt). Well.

It turns out it was a little bit of a bigger deal than she let on.
Rebekah is played by Geraldine Viswanatha as a character named Rachel.

Fun-fact: Rachel is the #1 name people call Rebekah when they forget her name or get it wrong.

(Sidebar: Miracle Workers which @yoyogeraldinev stars in is perfectly charming and I recommend it.)
Anyways. The movie is called Bad Education. It& #39;s out tonight and everyone can watch it on HBO.

We haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve haven’t been this excited for a movie premiere since Transformers in 1986.

People that watch movies as their job like it. It’s got a 92% on Rotten Tomato.

And it’s a NYT Critic’s Pick this week: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/23/movies/bad-education-review.html

Fun">https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/2... fact #2: their review links to the piece Rebekah wrote about all of this for NYT in 2004.
If you’ve read this far, @RRombom& #39;s version of a SoundCloud would be a link to: https://www.donorschoose.org/ .

Fun">https://www.donorschoose.org/">... fact #3: one of real-life Rebekah’s hobbies is to browse Donor’s Choose and make donations to classroom’s in need.
