THREAD 1/There is a lot of chatter about 45* resigning immediately prior to his term ending & Pence pardoning him. The issue w this being legit is Pence is wo a doubt a co-conspirator so the issue of either a self pardon or a Pence pardon would b litigated. SO MUCH legal

2/ precedent will be set as a result of this admin. Of course we could just dump the worthless OLC memo saying a sitting pres can’t be indicted. I’ve thought that was crap since day 1 but we have Barr so what can we do? But w pardons it’s not black & white bc trump is both

3/ the ringleader & co-conspirator. So immediately CEASE saying they “can’t” do something bc it’s illegal. I repeat for the millionth time since I joined twitter they can & will do all things illegal.
If 45* resigns 4 a Pence pardon it’s not cut & dry. Nor for all pardons

4/ issued either by trump or Pence bc they are co-conspirators in the crimes. That’s not how the pardon power was designed. But here’s the hitch in our giddyup: we can’t treat what we’re doing as if we have “normal” circumstances to base decisions off from history. We have

5/ insan circumstances that neither the founders nor history prepared us for & going forward we must think outside the box. Holding every criminal accountable, whether R or D will be BRAND NEW precedent taking facts & circumstances into account that were unfathomable 2 a

6/ certain extent. We must litigate & imprison every criminal associated w this global criminal enterprise run from the WH. We must close the loop on holes in our laws & we must empower our legislators further re removal and oversight of the Pres. No more skirting congressional

7/ oversight by having only “acting” cabinet members and allowing the pres to direct funds thus dumping on the power of the purse. No more perjurious testimony from judges both fed & SCOTUS being ignored as they are crammed into vacancies. No more Mitch McConnells. EVER. We

8/ must fight this hardest fight with w wry conceivable option whether it’s “normal” or not. We have the bounds of the law, yes, but this pres, his admin, and his boys Barr & MConnell & co r entirely lawless. We must CEASE acting in a normal responsive way. Over 50,000 innocent

9/ people have died & it was preventable. But we have monsters n office who r only politicians & not ppl & we mustn’t ever allow this 2 happen again. Never say again something “can’t” happen. Bc IT DID & DOES & that’s why we r here. Think proactively. We’re smarter than this END.
