365 days since the Home Office received my fresh #stateless application, still awaiting for a decision.

Home Office is aware since May 2014 that I can not admit back to Malaysia for the purpose of permanent residence, nor reacquire back Malaysian citizenship.

@HumanRightsCtte
I've launched a petition, asking @ukhomeoffice to honour their own Immigration Rules, Policy, and Guidance on statelessness, and grant me stateless leave to remain without further delay

Home Office case workers,

Please be empathy and sympathy, I'm a human being graduated with a degree and a masters degree from UK university, not a number.

I want to take back control of my life, live my life with dignity!

I had an interview with Eric Smith and Clare Ashford on the BBC Shropshire Radio on 7th July 2020

You can listen to it @ https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08hrxr4 available for next 29 days (0:00:00; 3:00:00 news highlight, and the interview @ 1:18:20 timeline).
Voluntary Return Scheme
I've attended the Home Office surgery a few times together with my friends

The Home Office enforcement officers told us that I cannot be deported because the Home Office is aware that I'm no longer a Malaysian citizen and Malaysia would not accept me back
1) It's now more than 15 months since I submitted my application for stateless leave to remain in the UK in April 2019, consent letter signed & submitted https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y02_4DJfK3hpLTICawyBRyfFMKqaUVuS/edit

The Home Office still would not give a timescale when they will make a decision for my application
2) 27 Nov 2019 - the Home Office first claimed that the delay in making a decision was due to mandatory checks, including the Malaysian authorities https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HcqYDdidIzg6g3ITt9qVe83otOp6QocQ/view
3) 27 Nov 2019 - the Home Office also stated that "to qualify for stateless leave to remain in the UK, an applicant must demonstrate that they are stateless and that they will NOT be admitted to another country for the purposes of permanent residence there."
4) 30 June 2020 - the Home Office response to my formal complaint was that "part of the application process is to routinely conduct enquiries with other governments departments, including the Malaysian authorities" https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GmcC97r6TD_lcjw2lC8zODws3sNu3y8b/edit
5) 27 July 2020 - For the first time, the Home Office's Statelessness Determination Team wrote to me asking for my written consent (again), for the Home Office to contact the Malaysian authorities https://drive.google.com/file/d/13XDpcQFDRDFLiyKsZIvcuarTVYbGn05b/view?usp=sharing
6) 30 July 2020 - the Statelessness Determination Team stated the consent letter I signed in April 2019 was 'permission to check whether information provided is genuine and correct, not for contacting the national authorities of another country' https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z61jJVMFH9WEd0xEyP-QzjFIu6zj0_gi/edit
7)a. Information I've submitted together with my application in April 2019, included documentation from the Malaysian authorities

b. if these are 'mandatory checks', why only now (after 15 months) the Home Office asked for my written consent to contact the Malaysian authorities?
8) In 2019 Stateless Guidance (page 21 of 29) - 'Responses to enquiries with overseas governments' stated ".... as to how long it is reasonable to wait for any response. Whenever possible, you must progress the case to conclusion ...."

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/843704/stateless-leave-guidance-v3.0ext.pdf
9) These are Home Office own guidelines which suggest measures to be taken if overseas government's responses are unacceptably delayed so that decisions are not unduly held up.
10) @ukhomeoffice @pritipatel @kevin_j_foster

a. Please confirm a timescale you deem reasonable to get a response from the Malaysian authorities

b. Please confirm a reasonable timescale for when my application for stateless leave to remain in the UK will be concluded
11) I believe my application is not complex, and I meet all the requirement set up under the Home Office's Immigration Rules and Stateless Guidance.

I created a table showing evidence submitted and the Immigration Rules & Stateless Guidance https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yk372ki8qdD4gXT1XxGuuK292hhOcaqA/
12) I launched a petition in March 2020, calling the Home Office to honour and abide by the Immigration Rules and Stateless Guidance, and grant me stateless leave to remain in the UK with immediate effect
