1. As promised @AfropolitanW and the #TravelTribe, here's a lil thread of some islands I've been to. I couldn't find many pictures. Will start with KENYA, of course, #CentralIsland in #LakeTurkana MUST VISIT #MagicalKenya #IslandLife

2. Then next door, #Zanzibar with its beautiful beaches and doors. Yes, DOORS haha. If you can, attend #SautiZaBusara every February. Beautiful festival. My fav beaches so far: Nungwi and Paje. Hope to visit Jambiani soon. #Tanzania #IslandLife #Travel

3. Not too far from the East African Coast, we have #Bali That's also where my current avi was taken. The airline I used lost my baggage, so I bought those shorts and vest and wore without washing. If you know me, you know I- #Indonedia #IslandLife #Travel

4. Now to the US. A peninsula but formerly an Island, so I think it counts. I only have 1pic from this. If you go to New York, get to #ConeyIsland and ride that "rickety" Cyclone Roller Coaster - wooden, built in 1927. You will die a little. For his privacy, blocked face.

5. Did a one day trip to #SentosaIsland. I think the #megazip is overrated. The advert said, you fly over a jungle and beach and land on an island. True, but underwhelming, yet I'm scared of heights. Fun times though. Visit Universal Studios. That was fun. #Singapore

6. Next, the gorgeous #LangkawiIsland in #Malaysia. I don't have many pics on this phone. Take the #LangkawiSkybridgeCableCar for beautiful views. They also have gorgeous beaches, tasty food (I'm no foodie tho'), island hopping, museums, hiking opps, parks, skybridge walk...

7. Now, Europe. #ReichenauIsland. Arguably the most beautiful region in in #Germany. Idk. It's a UNESCO world heritage site and sits in #LakeConstance which borders several countries. Look @ this cute lil museum. Try, the caravan life, glamping, yachts... or you can herd sheep

9. #LakeToba - The largest volcanic lake in the world. Sad that for this beauty to be formed, a lot of damage and loss of life happened, about 70K years ago. This is one of the most beautiful places I've been to and that black thing I'm wearing is a petticoat #SamosirIsland

12. I need to tell you a quick story. I took this pic in #Boracay then posted it in 2017 and captioned, "This is the Bridge to Canaan" - not in those exact words. People were ANGRY. I'm sorry. It was supposed to be funny, but people thought I was teasing their political favs.

13. #MountBromo in #JavaIsland is so beautiful! My friend and I got conned at midnight, when we started the hike up, then froze to (almost) death at 4am ish as we sat on concrete waiting for the sunrise. Things I do for the sun!!! #MtBromo

14. I need to mention that what you see in the background is an active volcano. We hiked there after the gorgeous sunrise, and sat on the mouth of that bubbling mountain. I do foolish things - it hits me months later. Apparently, the gases we inhaled are dangerous! Smh

15. This is #Lhoknga in #BandaAceh. Because of religion, bikinis are not allowed. The end.

16. This pic was taken at #AirItanDam in #PenangIsland. One can see the city below (zoom into that pic) and you can also clearly hear the gods (and your demons) speak, because it's eerily quiet. One needs it tho, after that scary ride atop that hill - the winding steep roads

17. #HarauValley is a hidden gem. Look at that pretty lil cabin - it was very cheap and basic, but very cute. During the rainy season, one can hear that waterfall in background One sleeps so peacefully here; it's possible to pee in your sleep. I'm just saying #SumatraIsland

19. Another one from #NorthSumatra. For my forever love of elephants, I went to #Tangkahan. I'm also forever conflicted about this visit (I'll tell this story someday), but so grateful that I showed these ellies so much love.

20. #NiasIsland there's no story here, except that some places in #Indonesia look so beautifully unreal! Like pictures (no, not these pics). Plus I got stared at, VERY MUCH. It didn't bother me; people stare at 'gojias' (and strange) things all the time.

21. Forgot to add: when you visit #Bali 1. Walk through the rice fields but if you're scared of snakes, rethink (that was me. I almost climbed on my guide's shoulders!) 2. Go on a tea tasting tour thingy and try the cat poop coffee. Lol. It's called #KopiLuwak Yahoo it.

24. I'm shooketh, to learn that it's on this day in 2018, that my friend and I went to #MtBromo. Facebook has just reminded me so I got more pics. I stood on the edge (mouth of the crater) to take that pic of the bubbling. What if I fell in there? Why do I do such things?
