Explanation and apology for the dumbest thing I've ever done sober;
I received an email last week that one of my tunes was being used for and Amazon Prime movie, 'Happiness Continues: A Jonas Brothers Concert Film'. A pretty cool placement in my world...
I knew the song would be used as incidental/background music, and that's ALL I knew.
I then made the fatal error of posting it on Twitter. No hashtags, no tags of any kind... Within seconds it blew up, I mean it went nuts...
The fans had found the tweet immediately and retweets were multiplying exponentially. Ten minutes later, I deleted the tweet and reply tweets. But by then, the cat was out of the bag and screenshots were taken. Evidence, dammit!...
I actually thought the fans were aware that the film was in the works, because a quick Google search resulted in 'Happiness Begins', NOT 'Happiness Continues'. Oops! I quickly discovered that the fans had been waiting for some kind of announcement from The Jonas Bothers...
I had inadvertently opened up a big ass can of worms. The fans were asking me a lot of questions that I did not have answers for, nor was it my place to say. Even asking me if I'd written songs performed by the guys, which would be FANTASTIC, but no, and I had to remain quiet...
Man, they/YOU were relentless! Haha. The last week, I've been silent, kind of freaked out and wondering what kind of damage I'd done, as well as if they'd pull my song.
Well, they didn't and the film was released yesterday, with the song still in the film, around 15:45...
So, I'd like to apologize to publisher, co-writer, The Jonas Brothers and their management, Amazon Studios, and the JB fans, who may have thought I was messing with them. Really, any band/artist should feel fortunate to have these kinds of fans. I've never seen anything like it..
Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie, especially the club show. If you want to check out the song we contributed to the film, here's a link:

And while you're at Amazon, check out Bosch, the best noir detective show on television.
Cheers and stay safe!
