I’m serious when I say

American literature by an large isn’t very good

Most books and authors are supremely overrated

And are only “popular” because they’re the only books teenagers actually read when forced to in public school

Name me an American author or work and I’ll rate

The only exception I can think to this rule is American short story writers.

Poe and Hawthorne excel at writing short stories.

But as for the American novel?

I’d give it a miss this time around.
