1/4 We're starting a campaign for a one-off Equity tax on MSM assets, to fund a public inquiry into biased media outlets. 50% will fund the inquiry and 50% will be used to set up an independent watchdog with powers to investigate, fine and even shut down the worst offenders.

2/4 It's clear the British public are demanding independent, fair and balanced news, not deceitful, biased opinion. A recent poll suggests 72% of the public have no confidence in current, legacy media providers. They must be made accountable to taxpayers and their subscribers.

4/4 We recommend our jurisdiction will not only cover media providers, but also include holding individual journalists, news presenters, editors and producers to account. This is an opportunity to force our dishonest broadcasters to reconsider the quality of their output.
