In the week ahead you're going to see a lot of reports about farmers euthanizing hogs.

Your first instinct is going to be to criticize the farmer, "how dare he/she do this when so many people are starving?!"

Know this, this is an absolute last resort and is gut wrenching for the farmer and those that support them.

You can't eat a live hog, it has to be processed in order to be the food so many desperately need.

Many processors are closed due to the the virus resulting in tens of thousands of animals a day not being processed.

This is likely to break a lot of people, so please be kind in your responses and take this time to ask questions about how your food makes it to your plate.

We will see changes in our food supply chain because of this going forward, I just pray it's the right ones.
