Man I am real tired of folks not being upfront and open about how much they get paid for work from publishers. I'm over open secrets. I'm over predatory practices. It only hurts the creators and the community not to speak up.

We gotta get rid of the idea that youll be blacklisted for speaking the truth about bad experiences. If saying that Boom regularly pays shit means I'll never work for boom, good?? The same goes for Nobrow.

This isn't to say you shouldn't take a low paying job. This isn't to say you shouldn't buy their products. You do you. But also be knowledgeable about your decisions. Oni paid me $3k for AQ with a 50% royalty rate. Not great!! But it also jump-started my career.

There are plenty of people that will still work for these companies for the exposure, and if that's their decisions that's their decision. But as an industry and community, we need to stop the whisper network cuz that's how uninformed people get screwed.
