I’m going to do a thread of pillars of swalah ( arkaanul salah) , obligations of salah ( waajibaatul salah) and sunnah acts done during salah.

Firstly, arkanul salah are those acts done during salah that are completely a must. When you miss doing one the salah is null and void whether forgotten intentionally or unintentionally. You have to repeat your salah.

Arkanul salah are eleven;
1. Niyyah ( intention to pray your salah)
2. Iqamah praying while standing ( unless you’re too sick to stand).
3.Takbiratul ihram . This is the first takbir ( Allahu akbar ) done to start your salah .
4. Qiraatul faatiha. Reading suratul faatiha.

5. Rukuu’
6. I’tidaal ( standing after rukuu’)
7. Sujuud (m
8. Tashahud ( reading at- tahiyaat)
9. Tasleem ( giving salaam at the end of the salah)
10. Tartib ( proper sequence of salah from takbiratul ihraam to tasleem
11. Tattabu’ ( continuity ; to occur after one another)

Correction **
Arkanul salah are fourteen.
The other three are
Rising from sujuud
Sitting between the two sujuuds
Sitting for the final tashahud

Waajibatul salah are obligatory acts of salah that are also a must act. However when forgotten unintentionally, one can perform two sijdahs ( sijdatul sahwi) at the end of the salah (after tashahud and before taslim) without having to repeat the whole salah.

They’re eight wajibatul salah;

1. Takbirat Al-Intiqal: Saying allahu akbar in moving to the next act in Salah (except number 3)
2.Tasbih: Saying “subhana rabial adhim” during Ruku
3. Upon rising from Ruku: Saying “sami Allahu liman hamida” upon rising from rukuu’

4.Tahmid: Saying “rabbana walakal hamd when at itidal ( for both imam and follower.
5.Tasbih: Saying “subhana rabi al-‘alaa” during Sujud
6. Jilsah/Julus: Saying:” rabbighfirli” between 2 Sujud
7. Saying the first tashahud
8. Sitting for the first tashahud

Sunnah acts of salah are those that are not obligatory to be performed. One can do those acts or leave them without any repercussions to your salah.

They’re eleven;
1. Reading the duaa before faatiha ( I’ll write the duaa at the end of thread)
2. Seeking refuge from shaitan
3. Saying Bismillah
4. Saying Amiin
5. Reciting a surah after faatiha
7. Reciting out loudly

7.Saying after the tahmeed for one who is not praying behind an imam: “Mil’ al-samawaati wa mil’ al-ard wa mil’ ma shi’ta min shay’in ba’d”
8. Saying the tasbeeh more than once in rukuu
9. Saying the tasbeeh more than once in sujuud
10. Saying rabbighfirlii more than once

11. Sending prayers and blessings to the prophet ( saw) and his family in the kast tashahud and making duaa after it.
