Aubameyang to Chelsea rumours mean one thing, it’s time for a thread⬇️

He’s made it clear he wants to leave Arsenal if they didn’t reach the Champions League. They haven’t & he wants to play on the biggest stage - he hasn’t been in the Champions League since his Dortmund days. Chelsea can offer that & he wouldn’t be the first player to jump ship...
His time at Arsenal on a personal level has been successful, winning the golden boot and scoring 61G with 13A in 97 games. Playing out wide either side or down the middle, he offers flexibility. On a team level, it hasn’t been as successful of course.
He’s won the golden boot in Germany and in England & has proven himself time and again. Coming into the last phase of his career, he still has time at the top level & it should be spent at a top team competing for titles & in the Champions League.
His role at Chelsea would be interesting because right now he’s the superior forward to Abraham. He’s played up top with Lacazette & Reus successfully meaning he can work with Tammy. But the Blues don’t play with two strikers & I doubt he’d play out wide
With Chelsea linked with U21 forward Victor Osimhen & 23 year old’s Walderschmidt & Dembele, it seems Chelsea are looking for competition for Tammy rather than a replacement. I’m not sure Auba would be happy sitting on the bench, wherever he goes he needs promsises he’s starting
Personal Season

His stats show he’s a hard working striker, he’s a pressing forward reflected in his tackles+interceptions. His stats reflect that of a finisher rather than a complete forward. The lack of assists show that, but his finsishing & conversion rate are impressive.
Comparisons (PL)

In terms of other strikers in the league, he resembles Ings & Aguero in terms of all round play, finishing & passes into the box. Looks to be more involved in the play, whereas Abraham & Vardy stick to exploring space in behind, hence the lack of dribbles.
Comparisons (Europe)

Harder to compare him to these as they play for better teams with better players. He only mirrors Haaland in terms of state, who is more of a traditional ‘9’ His shot on target % is lower in general as he has scored less than all of these forwards.
In terms of Europe & top strikers/goalscorers, he sits relatively low in the elite with a low number of shots per game xG per 90.
As seasons go, have to take into account the two managers Arsenal have had, the two differing philosophies and playing out wide & centrally at different times has been tough. Plus there was still a quarter of the season left to play and he was on 20G in all comps (17 in the PL)
It shows he adapts well, and he’s proven that coming over to England & being successful. I believe he would do so again at Chelsea. CHO, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, James, Mount, Ziyech & potentially Coutinho all providing chances makes for good reading if you’re a Chelsea forward...
His pace and pressing would go hand in hand with Lampard’s tactics. Wherever he goes next, I believe he will have a positive impact wherever he goes. But the stumbling block could be the transfer fee and lack of guarantees of game time at the Bridge.
