Considering the situation in Kano, one would really appreciate the proactiveness of @jidesanwoolu, the @followlasg state Governor. He has exemplified true leadership & care for his people. You will also be a witness that I have been on the campaign against the #Covid_19 since
few cases were recorded in Lagos & Abuja. I have been calling on state Governors, especially in Kaduna & Kano to take adequate measures in the event that the virus break in those states. I have spoken to high-ranking officials of the federal government & some states too on this.
While we may find it easy to blame the @NCDCgov, the biggest culprits are our state Governors, especially in the North. It is safe to say the Kano state Gov, @GovUmarGanduje has failed woefully in tackling this issue, considering the approach taken by SanwoOlu, especially.
The Lagos State govt has shown a high sense of responsibility, by taking some actions prior to receiving any financial aid from the Federal Govt. Reliably, I gathered the state used almost 6billion naira of its own fund, before the FG reimbursed the state coffers.
This is what we expect from every northern state. We all know that the @GovKaduna has put adequate measures in place, & never heard him request for money from the FG before he does that. Same way, we heard the Bauchi state Gov saying he won't lockdown the state until thr FG
gives him some money to share to the masses as palliative. It is very safe to say that most of the northerners Governors see this as a means of making money from the FG rather than using every means available to arrest the spread of the #COVID19 virus. This is unfortunate.
When the Ogun State launched its walk-in & drive-thru testing center, we didn't hear the state asking for money from the FG as well. Why are we the only people asking for money before we do our own work? Why will the state relinquish its responsibility https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/coronavirus-ogun-state-commences-walk-in-and-drive-through-tests/kr63nss
to the Federal Govt? It is either majority of these northern Governors do not take our lives serious, or they are too reckless to do what is right. If the state can borrow money to do its projects, what will stop the state from borrowing to erect testing centers at this time?
We want to call the attention of the Kano state Gov, @GovUmarGanduje @dawisu to channel whatever resources the state has in tackling this issue. I am sure of the FG sees the efforts of the state, it ll come in, as it did in Lagos State. There are many states now in the county
with reported cases. Should they all wait for the FG to give them money?

On whose shoulder lies the responsibility of primary health care? While we call the attention of the @NCDCgov to come into the aid of the state, we remind the state Governors to wake up now.
We cannot fold our hands & see such negligence lead to more death of people. This is not only wicked but unforgivable.

Call on your state Governors to act now.
