I don’t watch this show but I keep seeing this clip, and it’s Islamophobic and dangerous. Period.

Islam, like ALL religions, has significant progress to do in embracing intersectionality. But at its core, it’s a religion of tolerance.

The stupid replies and RTs about stoning and murders neglect to point out that all religions have extremists and true Muslims denounce them vehemently. Even countries like Saudi Arabia, among the worst offenders, is seen as “un-Muslim” by many.

What worse than Jeff’s ignorant rhetoric perpetuating stereotypes is that it erases the work Gen Z Muslims are doing to embrace their religion *and* LGTBQ people. I know many of these people, and there are countless orgs making a difference as well.

I’m not saying it isn’t difficult to be a LGTBQ people in a predominantly Muslim country or household. It almost universally is. But the way we make it better for them is not some B-list celebrity espousing hate on a problematic fracker’s show that tons of gay people watch.
