Mam's care home is staffed by poorly paid, devoted people who love the residents. With Covid 19 showing it's face, they are broken. They feel as though they're looking towards losing their own family. They hide and sob, go home and can't sleep. They're also at risk. They 1/3
can't get tests, hospitals don't want to admit residents with ANY other problems, including cellulitis and post fracture infection. the NHS is NOT 'open for business as usual.' The stress these people are going through is intolerable. They're caring for residents like Mam 2/2
with varying degrees of dementia. They're exhausted, frightened and the govt is doing NOTHING to support any of them. Hancock's lying again. 6 tests for a 90 bed unit. Even when the GP stipulates hospital, they are refused a bed. How d'you manage a dementia patient in pain? 3/3
@piersmorgan @georgegalloway @MattHancock There will be thousands of these situations across the UK. These people have lives. They Matter. Here she is with her great grand daughter. Do they deserve to go through this?
Sorry about the sequencing. I literally can't think straight. Those carers have loved and cared for Mam for years. We know the staff and other residents, whether they're funny, clever, can sing, like their nails done, love their family. Went through a war. They're HUMAN BEINGS.
