EIP-1057 has been Accepted by the #Ethereum Core Devs and implemented by major clients. The miners, pools, and exchanges are ready to deploy it. In the normal course of action we continue testing and roll it out. We have reached no consensus to do otherwise.

The #Ethereum network has been succesfully secured by GPU miners from the start. The purpose of https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-1057  is simply to maintain that status quo. The question now is when - not whether - to deploy it.

It is the responsibility of the Core Devs to make that decision. We owe it to the both GPU miners and the ASIC manufactures to provide clarity going forward.
