I know how this sounds, all crunchy and hippie dippy. Whatever.

It’s honestly so sad to me how much we define people’s value by what they do 40 hours a week. It crushes my souls every time I ask someone what they do, and they answer with some shit, “I’m an account manager.” 1/
How depressing is that? I don’t give a shit what you force yourself to do 9-5 for some corporation you have no personal stake in.

Tell me what you’re passionate about. How you try to impact the world in real ways. What do you fight for. What do you fight against. 2/
And I mean, if you’re a teacher and teaching is your passion, that’s totally different. Some jobs are vocations based on the inner self, and that’s wonderful.

(Although I’d still argue that you should find value in yourself outside the classroom.)
Yeah I said souls, plural, and no, I’m not taking questions about it.
