1/ So the antibody test that New York State used to determine 21% of NYC residents were infected doesn’t have a 1 week delay in producing positive results. It has a delay of THREE TO FOUR WEEKS because of the specific antibody for which it tests...
2/ Further, the test has three categories of results - positive, negative, and indeterminate- meaning some evidence of antibodies but not a fully positive finding. Indeterminate results are also evidence of exposure. Why didn’t the state report them? https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2020/04/updated-13102-nysdoh-wadsworth-centers-assay-for-sars-cov-2-igg.pdf
3/ We don’t know how many tests were indeterminate but the number is critical - if it is anything like the number of positives, NYC may be even further along in the course of the epidemic than has been reported. Why hasn’t the state disclosed it?
