THREAD: people on Twitter are suggesting lockdown isn& #39;t holding – or that public support for it is now suddenly falling.

Are they right? Let& #39;s find out… Sneaky spoiler/TL;dr: probably not!

All the below is courtesy of @YouGov daily polling.
First up: a majority of people *are* leaving their home each day. But is that number increasing? Judge for yourself, in what will be the first of a series of very flat line graphs (those dips? Weekends! The bigger, longer dip? Easter weekend!):
So people aren& #39;t leaving home more. But have they changed why they& #39;re leaving? Let& #39;s find out! Here& #39;s why people who left home say they did it.

Clear that people are combining different reasons to leave home. Also: people are going to supermarkets less at weekend. Handy to know.
The only bump in anything, if you& #39;re looking for one, is a small bump in people going to visit family, around last week – in fact, that& #39;s Easter Monday. Turns out there was a little (not even statistically significant) bump in Easter Sunday family visits.
People aren& #39;t reporting any new behaviour. Have their attitudes changed? A few key questions on that, direct and indirect.

Firstly, very very few people think Coronavirus is being taken too seriously, and it& #39;s not changing.
Secondly, thinking Coronavirus restrictions are "too severe" is a very niche view, and it doesn& #39;t seem to be growing in popularity just yet:
Finally: the British public overwhelmingly say they& #39;d carry on obeying lockdown rules even if they thought they were silly. And that number hasn& #39;t really changed either.
Is this definitive? No, nothing is – but unless people are fibbing to pollsters not just about their activities but also their views on lockdown, not much has actually changed.
