If you are enraged by the new name & #39;Jal Shakti& #39;, ask yourselves, haven& #39;t you been enabling these name changes. It didn& #39;t begin today. Remember & #39;Islamabad>Anantnag& #39;, & #39;Sulaiman Teng>Shankaracharya& #39;, and oh & #39;Nov Kadal> Nawa Kadal& #39;, WTH is & #39;Nawa& #39;, & #39;vormul>Baramulla& #39;,
When I was growing up, I have literally seen with my eyes bus conductors getting beaten up at Sovur Bus stand for calling out & #39;Islamabad& #39; instead of & #39;Anantnag& #39;. Our newspapers during early 20& #39;s began using such words while still bracketing & #39;Islamabad& #39;, eventually it was removed
Ask any woke kid from & #39;Biscoe and Mallinson& #39; and they will tell you they had a tracking day at & #39;Shankaracharya& #39;. The actual name & #39;Sulaiman Teng& #39; was willfully fizzled out from the vocabulary.
Similarly, there is some kind of an obsession with us for changing the actual name to make them fit foreign languages by adding & #39;i/a/u& #39;. e.g. I literally saw some post calling & #39;Gushtab& #39; as & #39;Gushtaba& #39;, & #39;Nadur& #39; as & #39;Nadru& #39;.
It reeks of some kind of inferiority complex amongst some of us who do not even like to speak Koshur. For them, a kid speaking koshur is one you need to distance yourself from, for it is not & #39;woke& #39; enough.
And unfortunately, this needs to be said, our women normalized & #39;I don& #39;t speak Koshur& #39; to the extent that Koshur is under threat now.
Unfortunately, the last tweet in this thread came off as blaming one gender for it. That was not the intention. I can get triggered by cringe-worthy & #39;ooi sun na ooi& #39; phrase that mostly & #39;woke& #39; guys use while talking amongst themselves.
