Today for #OneGoodThing I want to share the phenomenal work of @UMichLaw students in the Human Trafficking Clinic. The students provide free (and excellent) legal services to survivors of human trafficking. I am proud and grateful for all of the work they have done! 👇 /1
1)Reunited two clients with family members they hadn't seen in years. This reunification, like many in our clinic, was a multi-year process. The barriers to family reunification are immense. Without our students many of these reunifications would not be possible. /2
2) Obtained multiple green cards allowing our clients to feel safer and more secure in the U.S.

3)Obtained work authorization for multiple clients, allowing them to get jobs to support themselves and their families.

/3
4) Helped multiple clients obtain citizenship.

5) Intervened with multiple employers to clarify clients’ work authorization and help them keep their jobs. /4
6) Helped multiple clients obtain Continued Presence, giving them ability to live and work in the U.S. while their T visa (trafficking visa) application is pending.

7) Obtained Special Immigrant Juvenile Status approvals for multiple clients. /5
8) Helped a client get out of a restrictive foster care placement.

9) Connected multiple clients to public benefits that are allowing them to provide for themselves and their families, get mental health treatment, medical treatment, etc. /6
10) Submitted multiple new T Visa applications.

Thank you to all of our students. We are grateful for your hard work, energy, and dedication. Your impact will be felt by your clients for years to come. ❤️
