Please do not use "hearing impaired" in my mentions.
Deaf people have been blunt for as long as recorded history. And we have consistently asked everyone to call us "deaf" since the 1980s when abled parents got weirdly tone-policing.

If you identify as "hearing impaired", that's fine-- but be cognizant it's not a label deaf, hard-of-hearing or other labels associated with the ears chose for themselves. It is still a label at the end of the day imposed by abled medical professionals.
