two years ago at pride i had the absolute honour of meeting a man who risked his life for the sake of my country many years ago

i still remember the way we all shouted him thank yous from our hearts for contributing to the freedom we now have and sometimes even take for granted

the minute our applause ended we all started singing bella ciao with him and to this day it was one of the most magical moments i’ve ever witnessed

with this thread i want to remember every single soul that fought against the nazi-fascist occupation in italy: those who sacrificed themselves for the cause and those who survived
