Dear Govt of Zimbabwe: With the post-Covid19 economic policy changes in #SouthAfrica where Finance Minister @tito_mboweni has announced R300 billion to save the economy & prioritise employment of native South Africans, Zim needs to plan well for the looming mass deportations.
The @Min_of_IC ought to utilise one of the already existing taskforces with a few added brains in designing an absoption model that would expand the MSMEs/ SMMEs & create room for returning citizens. This is not going to be an ordinary task real progressive minds are required.
As a starting point I would suggest a closely guarded specific fund for skilled returnees to set-up small businesses that will employ a minimum of 5 people. The ministry can create a division that is responsible for assisting with identification of markets for the new SMEs.
A database of all new and existing MSMEs/SMMEs need to be created maintained regularly. In order to keep track of progress of the small undertakings, the @Min_of_IC ought to schedule weekly tours to different provinces as well as create a software that enables periodic updates.
Not adjusting sails & pretending like nothing is happening that will affect our country negatively is tantamount to promoting an exponential rise in criminality & civil strife. Solutions to fix Zimbabwe are going to come from Zimbabweans with govt leading responsibly. Ends//
