I'm voting for Biden in November. Not b/c I think he's the best choice (I don't) or b/c I like his politics (I really don't) or even b/c I think he'll be a shift from conservative politics.

I'm voting for him b/c we will lose the courts for a generation if Trump wins.
I have many misgivings about Biden. I do not believe Tara Reade's allegations are false, his lies about his civil rights record bother me deeply, and his condescension for millennial concerns is a picture perfect example of what we don't need in a leader.
I also greatly dislike the way his supporters have behaved. The nonstop racialized attacks against progressive women of color, the belittlement of Sanders and Warren voters, and the shame they have heaped upon people that cannot swallow the bitter pill that is Joe Biden is a lot.
In the end, shame and arguments that "voting for third party is voting for Trump" didn't win me over, it was quiet reflection for a few weeks over the impact of a conservative Supreme Court that did.
I have very little faith that Biden-style politics will be a paradigm shift that will bring increased equality to the US. I have even littler faith our health system will change at all.
Voting for Joe Biden for the sake of courts is morally consistent with my own beliefs.

For those that decide to vote third party, I do not blame you a single bit. Biden must earn your votes. Anybody that believes the opposite doesn't understand democracy.
If any others are on the fence about Biden, I'm happy to discuss why I made my choice. I was honest when I tweeted I was weighing it and I've spent a pretty significant amount of time thinking about it.
