The audience very often resonates with fictional characters, and hence tends to feel strongly for them. Yet as an audience, we often forget that these characters are sketched akin to real human beings. Characters with a real and raw past, are allowed fo commit mistakes.
If they are sketched to perfection, there will be absence of growth. Humans too evolve in a similar manner. They make mistakes, introspect and learn. The same applies for well sketched but flawed characters.
One should not term their actions as being opposite to their personality. Characters also evolve by learning from their mistakes. But this does not render constructive criticism wasteful. What should be avoided is unnecessary hate for character, which may turn into hate for actor
