A friend in need is a friend indeed.

I strongly believe in this statement. The #lockdown period has shown me who's a real friend and who's there just for social pretence.

I live with old parents with medical needs and have been a freelance digital marketer since 2015. (Thread)
I was getting steady work assignments till India went into complete #lockdown & eventually my revenue stream got affected as no client was releasing payments due to pandemic.

I reached out to everyone I knew. Drafted and mailed my portfolio to folks in my contacts. 0 response.
I am now reaching out to folks I know on the social web. I use an email tracking service to track who (and when) opens my email & how they interact with it.

@AksharPathak @thesatbir - Despite requests via DM/WhatsApp, they never opened my portfolio email. Let alone forward it.
Messaged @MasalaBai @anaggh @b50 @hardik @PBnrg @ImpsMom @SunilMalhotra @AmitHPanchal @SinghLions @ashwinmushran @ikaveri @alokebajpai @huzefamotiwala @kawaljit @iRahulJadhav @aaqibrk and these folks have been helpful. I thank them all for hearing me out and spreading the word.
I'm sending portfolio mails. I'll keep adding names - of all those people who helped me out during turbulent times in life and those who are connected with me on Twitter/FB/LinkedIn just for the heck of it - to this thread and share my experiences with the world.

Life goes on.
